Medical Missionaries

...is an international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing health care, medical support, medical education, and training to the poor of the world.

 Who We Are

We are a group of 200 health professionals and lay volunteers, who have organized to help impoverished people in Third World countries and locally here in the USA. Originally started by a group of doctors and nurses from Manassas, Virginia, Dr. Gilbert Irwin, wanting to reach out and help those in need, began recruiting volunteers from all areas of the community. Medical Missionaries has no paid employees and evolved from a volunteer effort to supply medicines, medical aid, clothing, and educational materials to the less fortunate.

Our Goals

To train and educate the local people in Third World countries on health maintenance, proper sanitation, and preventive medicine. We also hope to continue providing basic resources to the villages, clinics, and hospitals, and significantly impact the quality and length of life for the poor of the world.

With Praise and Thanksgiving, Medical Missionaries Proudly Announces the Opening of:

St. Joseph Clinic

"The Lord Hears the Cry of the Poor"

Thank you for all of your love, prayers, and support!  Because of our many volunteers and benefactors, Medical Missionaries was able to open wide the doors to St. Joseph clinic in Thomassique, Haiti, in January of 2007.  St. Joseph Clinic replaces a one-bed clinic and aims to bring continuity of health care to the impoverished area.  With the completion of the actual clinic we are now able to frequently send medical, dental, and surgical teams to Haiti and the Dominican Republic throughout the year.

Over the last few years lives have been dramatically improved but there is still so much more that needs to be done. The political turmoil in Haiti only adds to the area's unending problems. Medical Missionaries wants to train and educate the population and we want to continue sending aid.
